J. COLE, the 25-year-old American rapper sent fans into a frenzy yesterday (11th November 2010) by releasing new mix-tape 'Night Lights' as an exclusive download on his website. However, anticipating the massive response, the star took to his Twitter page and posted the download link himself, adding, "I know y'all gonna shut my site down ... so here's the direct link".
'Night Lights' contains the much anticipated track 'In The Morning', which is a collaboration with rapper DRAKE. The song is the first duet between the two MCs who are often compared because of their similar success stories. While Drake has been championed by the Young Money/Cash Money boss LIL WAYNE, Cole is the protege of Roc Nation owner JAY-Z.
Speaking about working with J. COLE to MTV News, Drake said, "Me and him will probably have many opportunities to rap, and try and out-rap each other. But it's not about entertaining the 'who's better?' debate that I'm sure everybody else is engaged in".
'Friday Night Lights' is the third official mix-tape from J.COLE, and included on the record is the track 'You Got It', a sampling of the JANELLE MONAE song 'Neon Valley Street'.
